Show Claude a screenshot, a simulator capture or a SwiftUI view and ask what breaks the HIG. Claude does the looking. HIG Review supplies the rules: 107 curated checks across 21 HIG pages, each cited with a link and a one-sentence quote fetched live from Apple.

  • Cited checklists. Ask for the rules that apply to a tab bar, a sheet or an alert. Every rule is scoped to the platforms its page actually covers, and Apple's "consider" and "prefer" stay recommendations, not requirements.
  • SwiftUI checks. Eleven lexical heuristics flag likely problems in source, such as tap targets under the platform minimum, fixed font sizes that break Dynamic Type, and alerts with too many buttons. Each finding says it's a heuristic and how confident it is.
  • Contrast. A deterministic WCAG ratio, reported against both the HIG accessibility table and its Dark Mode guidance. A translucent background with no known backdrop gets "unknown", never a false pass.

Honest by design. A rule only counts as verified when its locator phrase matches exactly one sentence on the live page. If Apple changes the wording, or the tool can only reach a cached copy, the citation says so instead of quoting stale text.

It ships as an MCP server and as a Claude Code plugin with a review skill and a reviewer agent. It grew out of a simple HIG lookup server, after tools like sosumi.ai made plain documentation lookup a solved problem.
